Description(AlphaE)-2alpha-(3,5-Dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-3beta-(hydroxymethyl)-7-methoxy-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-5-propenoic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 2-arylbenzofuran flavonoids. These are phenylpropanoids containing the 2-phenylbenzofuran moiety. (2e)-3-[(2s,3r)-2-(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-3-(hydroxymethyl)-7-methoxy-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-yl]prop-2-enoic acid is found in Selaginella moellendorffii. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (alphaE)-2alpha-(3,5-Dimethoxy-4-hydroxyphenyl)-3beta-(hydroxymethyl)-7-methoxy-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-5-propenoic acid.
