Description(2S,7aS)-2-[(1S)-1-hydroxyethyl]-4,4,7a-trimethyl-2,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1-benzofuran-6-one belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzofurans. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to a furan. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. (2s,7as)-2-[(1s)-1-hydroxyethyl]-4,4,7a-trimethyl-5,7-dihydro-2h-1-benzofuran-6-one is found in Vitis vinifera. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2S,7aS)-2-[(1S)-1-hydroxyethyl]-4,4,7a-trimethyl-2,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1-benzofuran-6-one.
