| Description | Kaempferol 3-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside, also known as kaempferol 3-O-rha(1-2)GLC 7-O-rha, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-7-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C7-position. Thus, kaempferol 3-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside is considered to be a flavonoid. Kaempferol 3-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside is a secondary metabolite. Secondary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically non-essential metabolites that may serve a role as defense or signalling molecules. In some cases they are simply molecules that arise from the incomplete metabolism of other secondary metabolites. 3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-5-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-7-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}chromen-4-one is found in Arabidopsis thaliana, Camellia sinensis, Lobularia maritima, Hylotelephium telephium and Vicia faba. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on kaempferol 3-O-[alpha-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1->2)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl]-7-O-alpha-L-rhamnopyranoside. |
