DescriptionDE-17 belongs to the class of organic compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. These are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. (1s,3r,3as,4s,8ar)-1-(acetyloxy)-3-hydroxy-3-isopropyl-6,8a-dimethyl-1,2,3a,4,5,8-hexahydroazulen-4-yl 4-hydroxybenzoate is found in Ferula communis. (1s,3r,3as,4s,8ar)-1-(acetyloxy)-3-hydroxy-3-isopropyl-6,8a-dimethyl-1,2,3a,4,5,8-hexahydroazulen-4-yl 4-hydroxybenzoate was first documented in 2014 (PMID: 25294094). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on DE-17 (PMID: 31352554) (PMID: 27083839).
