These are polycyclic compounds that is either a polyphenolic compound composed of two or more monocyclic aromatic units linked by an ester bond (depside), or a compound containing the depsidone structure (depsidone). 2,4-dihydroxy-3-(4-hydroxy-2-methoxy-6-propylbenzoyloxy)-6-pentylbenzoic acid is found in Cladonia cryptochlorophaea. CTK8H4730 is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
