DescriptionArachidoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as catechins. Catechins are compounds containing a catechin moiety, which is a 3,4-dihydro-2-chromene-3,5.7-Tiol. Arachidoside is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). Outside of the human body, Arachidoside has been detected, but not quantified in, nuts. 2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-3,4-dihydro-2h-1-benzopyran-3,5,7-triol is found in Cinnamomum bejolghota, Parapiptadenia rigida and Pinus sylvestris. This could make arachidoside a potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
