| Description | (1R,15R,18S)-4,5,6,9,10-pentamethoxy-18-methyl-17-oxatetracyclo[13.2.1.0²,⁷.0⁸,¹³]Octadeca-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaen-11-ol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as hydrolyzable tannins. These are tannins with a structure characterized by either of the following models. In model 1, the structure contains galloyl units (in some cases, shikimic acid units) that are linked to diverse polyol carbohydrate-, catechin-, or triterpenoid units. In model 2, contains at least two galloyl units C-C coupled to each other, and do not contain a glycosidically linked catechin unit. (1r,15r,18s)-4,5,6,9,10-pentamethoxy-18-methyl-17-oxatetracyclo[13.2.1.0²,⁷.0⁸,¹³]octadeca-2(7),3,5,8(13),9,11-hexaen-11-ol is found in Magnolia pyramidata. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,15R,18S)-4,5,6,9,10-pentamethoxy-18-methyl-17-oxatetracyclo[13.2.1.0²,⁷.0⁸,¹³]Octadeca-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaen-11-ol. |
