These are sesquiterpene mycotoxins structurally characterized by the presence of an epoxide ring and a benzopyran derivative with a variant number of hydroxyl, acetyl, or other substituents. The most important structural features causing the biological activities of trichothecenes are the 12,13-epoxy ring, the presence of hydroxyl or acetyl groups at appropriate positions on the trichothecene nucleus and the structure and position of the side-chain. 1-[(18'z,20'z)-13',14'-dihydroxy-5',13',25'-trimethyl-11',22'-dioxo-2',10',16',23'-tetraoxaspiro[oxirane-2,26'-tetracyclo[22.2.1.0³,⁸.0⁸,²⁵]heptacosane]-4',18',20'-trien-17'-yl]ethyl acetate is found in Baccharis coridifolia. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 1-[(18'Z,20'Z)-13',14'-dihydroxy-5',13',25'-trimethyl-11',22'-dioxo-2',10',16',23'-tetraoxaspiro[oxirane-2,26'-tetracyclo[22.2.1.0³,⁸.0⁸,²⁵]Heptacosane]-4',18',20'-trien-17'-yl]ethyl acetate. |
