DescriptionCamaldulensic acid, also known as camaldulensate, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. (1r,2r,4as,6as,6br,8ar,10s,12as,12br,13r,14bs)-10-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-13-methoxy-1,6a,6b,9,9,12a-hexamethyl-2,3,4,5,6,7,8,8a,10,11,12,12b,13,14b-tetradecahydro-1h-picene-4a-carboxylic acid is found in Eucalyptus camaldulensis and Viburnum cylindricum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Camaldulensic acid.
