Steroids and steroid derivatives are compounds based on the cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene carbon skeleton, partially or completely hydrogenated; there are usually methyl groups at C-10 and C-13, and often an alkyl group at C-17. By extension, one or more bond scissions, ring expansions and/or ring contractions of the skeleton may have occurred. (1r,2r,5s,7s,10r,11r,14r,16s)-2,5,7,10,15,15-hexamethyl-7-(4-methylpent-3-en-1-yl)-19-oxapentacyclo[14.2.1.0¹,¹⁴.0²,¹¹.0⁵,¹⁰]nonadecane is found in Baccharis ramosissima.
