These are aromatic polycyclic compounds containing a carbohydrate component glycosidically linked to a lignan moiety. They include 1-aryltetralin lactones. 4-(2h-1,3-benzodioxol-5-ylmethyl)-3-[(6-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2h-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)methyl]oxolan-2-one is found in Schisandra rubriflora. 4-[(2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)methyl]-3-[(6-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)methyl]oxolan-2-one is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
