Description5Beta,6beta-Dihydroxyboschnaloside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as iridoid o-glycosides. These are iridoid monoterpenes containing a glycosyl (usually a pyranosyl) moiety linked to the iridoid skeleton. (1s,4ar,5r,7r,7ar)-4a,5-dihydroxy-7-methyl-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,5h,6h,7h,7ah-cyclopenta[c]pyran-4-carbaldehyde is found in Euphrasia nemorosa. (1s,4ar,5r,7r,7ar)-4a,5-dihydroxy-7-methyl-1-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1h,5h,6h,7h,7ah-cyclopenta[c]pyran-4-carbaldehyde was first documented in 2000 (PMID: 11076577). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5beta,6beta-Dihydroxyboschnaloside.
