| Description | Kaempferol-3-rutinoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as flavonoid-3-o-glycosides. These are phenolic compounds containing a flavonoid moiety which is O-glycosidically linked to carbohydrate moiety at the C3-position. 5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-({[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}methyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}chromen-4-one is found in Carthamus tinctorius, Gynura divaricata, Ilex amara, Limnanthes douglasii and Strychnos spinosa. 5,7-dihydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-({[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}methyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}chromen-4-one was first documented in 2021 (PMID: 34416550).
