DescriptionTanzawaic acid E, also known as tanzawaate e, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as medium-chain fatty acids. These are fatty acids with an aliphatic tail that contains between 4 and 12 carbon atoms. (2e,4e)-5-[(1s,2s,4ar,6r,8r,8as)-6-hydroxy-2,6,8-trimethyl-2,4a,5,7,8,8a-hexahydro-1h-naphthalen-1-yl]penta-2,4-dienoic acid is found in Penicillium steckii. (2e,4e)-5-[(1s,2s,4ar,6r,8r,8as)-6-hydroxy-2,6,8-trimethyl-2,4a,5,7,8,8a-hexahydro-1h-naphthalen-1-yl]penta-2,4-dienoic acid was first documented in 2014 (PMID: 25453820). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Tanzawaic acid E.
