DescriptionGuayadequiol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as dibenzylbutyrolactone lignans. These are lignan compounds containing a 3,4-dibenzyloxolan-2-one moiety. (3r,4s)-4-(2h-1,3-benzodioxol-5-ylmethyl)-3-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-3-hydroxyoxolan-2-one is found in Bupleurum salicifolium. (3r,4s)-4-(2h-1,3-benzodioxol-5-ylmethyl)-3-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-3-hydroxyoxolan-2-one was first documented in 2021 (PMID: 34560578). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Guayadequiol.
