These are sesquiterpene lactones with a structure based on the germacranolide skeleton, characterized by a gamma lactone fused to a 1,7-dimethylcyclodec-1-ene moiety. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on methyl 10-(2,3-dimethyloxirane-2-carbonyloxy)-9-hydroxy-4-methyl-12-methylidene-13-oxo-3,14-dioxatricyclo[9.3.0.0²,⁴]Tetradec-7-ene-8-carboxylate.
