Description3-Hydroxy-4-{[1-(7-methoxy-2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-[(2-methylbut-2-enoyl)oxy]propan-2-yl]oxy}-3-methyl-4-oxobutan-2-yl hexanoate belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzodioxoles. These are organic compounds containing a benzene ring fused to either isomers of dioxole. Dioxole is a five-membered unsaturated ring of two oxygen atoms and three carbon atoms. 3-hydroxy-4-{[1-(7-methoxy-2h-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-[(2-methylbut-2-enoyl)oxy]propan-2-yl]oxy}-3-methyl-4-oxobutan-2-yl hexanoate is found in Thapsia garganica. 3-Hydroxy-4-{[1-(7-methoxy-2H-1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-1-[(2-methylbut-2-enoyl)oxy]propan-2-yl]oxy}-3-methyl-4-oxobutan-2-yl hexanoate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
