| Description | Guanosine 2'-monophosphate, also known as 2'-GMP or 2'-O-phosphoguanosine, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pentose phosphates. These are carbohydrate derivatives containing a pentose substituted by one or more phosphate groups. Guanosine 2'-monophosphate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). [(2r,3r,4r,5r)-4-hydroxy-2-(6-hydroxy-2-imino-3h-purin-9-yl)-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-3-yl]oxyphosphonic acid is found in Helianthus tuberosus. [(2r,3r,4r,5r)-4-hydroxy-2-(6-hydroxy-2-imino-3h-purin-9-yl)-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolan-3-yl]oxyphosphonic acid was first documented in 1988 (PMID: 2836379). A purine ribonucleoside 2'-monophosphate having guanine as the nucleobase (PMID: 15299531) (PMID: 2157020) (PMID: 2177661). |
