DescriptionOsmanthuside B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as coumaric acid esters. These are aromatic compounds containing an ester derivative of coumaric acid. (2r,3r,4r,5r,6r)-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-6-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-4-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate is found in Cistanche deserticola, Cistanche salsa, Ligustrum expansum, Ligustrum japonicum, Ligustrum pricei, Ligustrum robustum and Osmanthus fragrans. (2r,3r,4r,5r,6r)-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-6-[2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethoxy]-4-{[(2s,3r,4r,5r,6s)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-methyloxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-3-yl (2e)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoate was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 12828473). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on osmanthuside B (PMID: 34609151) (PMID: 29146317) (PMID: 31007699) (PMID: 16450298).
