Gamma butyrolactones are compounds containing a gamma butyrolactone moiety, which consists of an aliphatic five-member ring with four carbon atoms, one oxygen atom, and bears a ketone group on the carbon adjacent to the oxygen atom. (3z,4r,5r)-3-[(2r,3r)-2-chloro-3-hydroxybutylidene]-4-hydroxy-5-methyloxolan-2-one is found in Aspergillus ochraceus. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Chlorocarolide A. |
