These are organic polycyclic compounds containing a furan ring fused to a pyran ring. Furan is a five-membered aromatic ring with four carbon atoms and one oxygen atom. Pyran a six-membered heterocyclic, non-aromatic ring, made up of five carbon atoms and one oxygen atom and containing two double bonds. (1r,2r,3s,4s,6r,8s,9r,10s,12s,14s,15r,18r)-10-(acetyloxy)-14-chloro-2-hydroxy-4,9,18-trimethyl-13-methylidene-17-oxo-5,16,19-trioxapentacyclo[10.6.1.0¹,¹⁵.0³,⁹.0⁴,⁶]nonadecan-8-yl acetate is found in Briareum stechei.
