DescriptionKuwanol A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 3-prenylated flavans. These are flavans that features a C5-isoprenoid substituent at the 3-position. (1r,9s,13s,21r)-1-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-17-[(1e)-2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]-11-methyl-2,20-dioxapentacyclo[11.7.1.0³,⁸.0⁹,²¹.0¹⁴,¹⁹]henicosa-3,5,7,11,14,16,18-heptaene-5,15-diol is found in Morus australis. (1r,9s,13s,21r)-1-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-17-[(1e)-2-(2,4-dihydroxyphenyl)ethenyl]-11-methyl-2,20-dioxapentacyclo[11.7.1.0³,⁸.0⁹,²¹.0¹⁴,¹⁹]henicosa-3,5,7,11,14,16,18-heptaene-5,15-diol was first documented in 2016 (PMID: 26756182). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Kuwanol A.
