These are polycyclic compounds containing the tetracyclic cucurbitane nucleus skeleton, 19-(10->9b)-abeo-10alanost-5-ene (also known as 9b-methyl-19-nor lanosta-5-ene), with a variety of oxygenation functionalities at different positions. (1r,4s,5s,8r,9r,12s,13s)-8-[(2r,4r)-4,6-dihydroxy-6-methyl-5-oxoheptan-2-yl]-5,9,17,17-tetramethyl-18-oxapentacyclo[10.5.2.0¹,¹³.0⁴,¹².0⁵,⁹]nonadec-2-en-16-one is found in Momordica charantia. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,4S,5S,8R,9R,12S,13S)-8-[(2R,4R)-4,6-dihydroxy-6-methyl-5-oxoheptan-2-yl]-5,9,17,17-tetramethyl-18-oxapentacyclo[10.5.2.0¹,¹³.0⁴,¹².0⁵,⁹]Nonadec-2-en-16-one. |
