DescriptionPapaveroxidine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as benzylisoquinolines. These are organic compounds containing an isoquinoline to which a benzyl group is attached. 6-[(s)-(acetyloxy)[(5r)-4-methoxy-6-methyl-2h,5h,7h,8h-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolin-5-yl]methyl]-2,3-dimethoxybenzoic acid is found in Papaver pseudo-orientale. 6-[(s)-(acetyloxy)[(5r)-4-methoxy-6-methyl-2h,5h,7h,8h-[1,3]dioxolo[4,5-g]isoquinolin-5-yl]methyl]-2,3-dimethoxybenzoic acid was first documented in 1988 (PMID: 21401148). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Papaveroxidine.
