These are diterpene lactones with a structure characterized by the presence of a gamma-lactone fused to a guaiane, forming 3,6,9-trimethyl-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-2-one or a derivative. (3ar,4s,6ar,8s,9r,9as,9bs)-8,9-dihydroxy-9-(hydroxymethyl)-3,6-dimethylidene-2-oxo-octahydroazuleno[4,5-b]furan-4-yl (2s)-3-chloro-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanoate is found in Centaurea glastifolia and Rhaponticum serratuloides. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (2S)-2-Hydroxy-2-methyl-3-chloropropanoic acid (3aR,9R)-8alpha,9beta-dihydroxy-9-(hydroxymethyl)-3,6-bis(methylene)-2-oxo-2,3,3abeta,4,5,6,6abeta,7,8,9,9abeta,9balpha-dodecahydroazuleno[4,5-b]furan-4beta-yl ester. |
