These are sesquiterpene lactones based on 2-dioxonaphtho[4a,4-b]furan. 6,10-bis(acetyloxy)-3-(ethoxymethyl)-6a,9-dihydroxy-6,9-dimethyl-2-oxo-4h,5h,7h,8h,10h-naphtho[4a,4-b]furan-4-yl acetate is found in Pseudelephantopus spicatus. 4,10-Bis(acetyloxy)-3-(ethoxymethyl)-6a,9-dihydroxy-6,9-dimethyl-2-oxo-2H,4H,5H,6H,6aH,7H,8H,9H,10H-naphtho[4a,4-b]furan-6-yl acetate is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). |
