Common Name(-)-α-himachalene
Description(1R,6S)-alpha-himachalene belongs to the class of organic compounds known as himachalane and lippifoliane sesquiterpenoids. These are sesquiterpenoids with a structure based on either the himachalane or the lippifoliane skeleton. Thus, (1R,6S)-alpha-himachalene is considered to be an isoprenoid. (-)-α-himachalene is found in Alpinia chinensis, Aristolochia elegans, Artemisia xerophytica, Bazzania trilobata, Bellis perennis, Cedrela odorata, Cedrus libani, Cinnamomum sieboldii, Erigeron philadelphicus, Hamamelis virginiana, Juniperus communis, Lippia integrifolia, Lutzomyia longipalpis, Micromeria sinaica, Phlomis lanata and Scapania undulata. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,6S)-alpha-himachalene.
