DescriptionOdorinol, also known as odorine, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as cinnamic acids and derivatives. These are organic aromatic compounds containing a benzene and a carboxylic acid group (or a derivative thereof) forming 3-phenylprop-2-enoic acid. (2s)-2-hydroxy-2-methyl-n-[(2r)-1-[(2e)-3-phenylprop-2-enoyl]pyrrolidin-2-yl]butanimidic acid is found in Aglaia elaeagnoidea, Aglaia laxiflora and Aglaia odorata. (2s)-2-hydroxy-2-methyl-n-[(2r)-1-[(2e)-3-phenylprop-2-enoyl]pyrrolidin-2-yl]butanimidic acid was first documented in 1987 (PMID: 17269011). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Odorinol (PMID: 11725964) (PMID: 3628559).
