DescriptionApohyoscine belongs to the class of organic compounds known as styrenes. These are organic compounds containing an ethenylbenzene moiety. Apohyoscine is a very strong basic compound (based on its pKa). aposcopolamine is found in Datura inoxia, Datura leichhardtii, Datura stramonium, Duboisia myoporoides and Hyoscyamus pusillus. Aposcopolamine is a bio-active isolate of Datura ferox and several species of Physochlaina, - plants belonging to the Nightshade family, Solanaceae in which tropane alkaloids are of frequent occurrence, particularly in tribes Datureae and Hyoscyameae.
