Description4-Hydroxy-2-{2-[6-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-5,8a-dimethyl-2-methylidene-decahydronaphthalen-1-yl]ethyl}but-2-enoic acid belongs to the class of organic compounds known as diterpenoids. These are terpene compounds formed by four isoprene units. 4-hydroxy-2-{2-[6-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-5,8a-dimethyl-2-methylidene-hexahydro-1h-naphthalen-1-yl]ethyl}but-2-enoic acid is found in Andrographis paniculata. 4-Hydroxy-2-{2-[6-hydroxy-5-(hydroxymethyl)-5,8a-dimethyl-2-methylidene-decahydronaphthalen-1-yl]ethyl}but-2-enoic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
