DescriptionMichellamine B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthylisoquinolines. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a naphthalene moiety linked to an isoquinoline through a CC or CN single bond. (1s,3s)-5-{4'-[(1r,3r)-6,8-dihydroxy-1,3-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-5-yl]-1,1'-dihydroxy-8,8'-dimethoxy-6,6'-dimethyl-[2,2'-binaphthalen]-4-yl}-1,3-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-6,8-diol is found in Ancistrocladus abbreviatus and Ancistrocladus korupensis. (1s,3s)-5-{4'-[(1r,3r)-6,8-dihydroxy-1,3-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-5-yl]-1,1'-dihydroxy-8,8'-dimethoxy-6,6'-dimethyl-[2,2'-binaphthalen]-4-yl}-1,3-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline-6,8-diol was first documented in 2014 (PMID: 25127465). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Michellamine B (PMID: 35355337) (PMID: 35796443) (PMID: 30346684) (PMID: 28720905).
