These are sterol lipids containing a carbohydrate moiety glycosidically linked to the steroid skeleton. 7-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-1-(1-hydroxy-5-methylhex-4-en-1-yl)-3a,3b-dimethyl-tetradecahydrocyclopenta[a]phenanthrene-9a-carbaldehyde is found in Gymnema sylvestre and Gynostemma pentaphyllum. Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on 5-{[(2R,3R,4S,5S,6R)-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)-3-{[(2S,3R,4S,5S,6R)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}oxan-2-yl]oxy}-14-(1-hydroxy-5-methylhex-4-en-1-yl)-10,11-dimethyltetracyclo[8.7.0.0²,⁷.0¹¹,¹⁵]Heptadecane-2-carbaldehyde. |
