DescriptionPregn-5-ene-3beta,20alpha-diol, also known as pregn-5-ene-3β,20α-diol or 20 alpha-dihydropregnenolone, belongs to the class of organic compounds known as gluco/mineralocorticoids, progestogins and derivatives. These are steroids with a structure based on a hydroxylated prostane moiety. Thus, pregn-5-ene-3beta,20alpha-diol is considered to be a steroid. pregn-5-ene-3β,20α-diol is found in Periploca sepium. pregn-5-ene-3β,20α-diol was first documented in 1970 (PMID: 4392955). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Pregn-5-ene-3beta,20alpha-diol.
