DescriptionUntenone A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds. These are carbonyl compounds with the generic formula O=C(R)C(H)C(R')=O, where R and R' can be any group. methyl (1s,2s)-2-hexadecyl-2-hydroxy-5-oxocyclopent-3-ene-1-carboxylate was first documented in 2004 (PMID: 15050640). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on untenone A (PMID: 31560019).
