| Description | Diomuscinone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as naphthoquinones. Naphthoquinones are compounds containing a naphthohydroquinone moiety, which consists of a benzene ring linearly fused to a bezene-1,4-dione (quinone). (2r)-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methyl-3h-naphthalene-1,4-dione is found in Dionaea muscipula and Diospyros wallichii. (2r)-5-hydroxy-2-(hydroxymethyl)-2-methyl-3h-naphthalene-1,4-dione was first documented in 2022 (PMID: 35263101). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Diomuscinone. |
