| Description | Myxochelin B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as salicylamides. These are carboxamide derivatives of salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is the ortho-hydroxylated derivative of benzoic acid. Myxochelin B is a primary metabolite. Primary metabolites are metabolically or physiologically essential metabolites. They are directly involved in an organism’s growth, development or reproduction. n-[(2s)-1-amino-6-{[(2,3-dihydroxyphenyl)(hydroxy)methylidene]amino}hexan-2-yl]-2,3-dihydroxybenzenecarboximidic acid is found in Trypanosoma brucei. n-[(2s)-1-amino-6-{[(2,3-dihydroxyphenyl)(hydroxy)methylidene]amino}hexan-2-yl]-2,3-dihydroxybenzenecarboximidic acid was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 15678426). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on myxochelin B (PMID: 18498160). |
