| Description | Pagoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as coumaric acid esters. These are aromatic compounds containing an ester derivative of coumaric acid. (5e)-4-{[(2e)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy}-2-methyl-5-(2-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}ethylidene)cyclopent-1-ene-1-carboxylic acid is found in Harpagophytum zeyheri. (5e)-4-{[(2e)-3-(4-hydroxyphenyl)prop-2-enoyl]oxy}-2-methyl-5-(2-{[(2r,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}ethylidene)cyclopent-1-ene-1-carboxylic acid was first documented in 2003 (PMID: 14598207). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Pagoside. |
