| Description | Isovellerol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as primary alcohols. Primary alcohols are compounds comprising the primary alcohol functional group, with the general structure RCOH (R=alkyl, aryl). (1as,3as,6as,6br)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-5,5,6b-trimethyl-1h,3ah,4h,6h,6ah-cyclopropa[e]indene-1a-carbaldehyde is found in Lactarius piperatus, Lactarius vellereus and Russula cuprea. (1as,3as,6as,6br)-2-(hydroxymethyl)-5,5,6b-trimethyl-1h,3ah,4h,6h,6ah-cyclopropa[e]indene-1a-carbaldehyde was first documented in 2001 (PMID: 11785186). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Isovellerol. |
