| Description | Gentiotrifloroside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenolic glycosides. These are organic compounds containing a phenolic structure attached to a glycosyl moiety. Some examples of phenolic structures include lignans, and flavonoids. Among the sugar units found in natural glycosides are D-glucose, L-Fructose, and L rhamnose. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-2-{[(3s,4r,4as)-4-ethenyl-8-oxo-3h,4h,4ah,5h,6h-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-3-yl]oxy}-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 2-hydroxy-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}benzoate is found in Gentiana triflora. (2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-2-{[(3s,4r,4as)-4-ethenyl-8-oxo-3h,4h,4ah,5h,6h-pyrano[3,4-c]pyran-3-yl]oxy}-4,5-dihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-3-yl 2-hydroxy-3-{[(2s,3r,4s,5s,6r)-3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-(hydroxymethyl)oxan-2-yl]oxy}benzoate was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 16289148). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Gentiotrifloroside. |
