| Description | Gamma-Bicyclohomofarnesal belongs to the class of organic compounds known as alpha-hydrogen aldehydes. These are aldehydes with the general formula HC(H)(R)C(=O)H, where R is an organyl group. 2-[(1s,8as)-5,5,8a-trimethyl-2-methylidene-hexahydro-1h-naphthalen-1-yl]acetaldehyde is found in Alpinia calcarata and Hedychium spicatum. 2-[(1s,8as)-5,5,8a-trimethyl-2-methylidene-hexahydro-1h-naphthalen-1-yl]acetaldehyde was first documented in 2019 (PMID: 30794339). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Gamma-Bicyclohomofarnesal. |
