| Description | Pinicolol B belongs to the class of organic compounds known as triterpenoids. These are terpene molecules containing six isoprene units. (1r,3s,3ar,5ar,7s,9as,11ar)-1-[(2r)-1-hydroxy-6-methylhept-5-en-2-yl]-3a,6,6,9a,11a-pentamethyl-1h,2h,3h,5h,5ah,7h,8h,9h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene-3,7-diol is found in Fomitopsis pinicola. (1r,3s,3ar,5ar,7s,9as,11ar)-1-[(2r)-1-hydroxy-6-methylhept-5-en-2-yl]-3a,6,6,9a,11a-pentamethyl-1h,2h,3h,5h,5ah,7h,8h,9h,11h-cyclopenta[a]phenanthrene-3,7-diol was first documented in 2017 (PMID: 28167294). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Pinicolol B. |
