DescriptionGentianal belongs to the class of organic compounds known as pyranopyridines. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a pyran ring fused to a pyridine ring. 6-hydroxy-1-methyl-1h,3h,4h-pyrano[3,4-c]pyridine-5-carbaldehyde is found in Gentiana rigescens. 6-hydroxy-1-methyl-1h,3h,4h-pyrano[3,4-c]pyridine-5-carbaldehyde was first documented in 2000 (PMID: 12525070). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Gentianal.
