| Description | (-)-Virgatusin belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 7,7'-epoxylignans. These are lignans with a structure based on a 2,5-diaryl-3, 4-dimethyltetrahydrofuran skeleton. 5-[(2s,3s,4s,5r)-5-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3,4-bis(methoxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]-2h-1,3-benzodioxole is found in Phyllanthus urinaria. 5-[(2s,3s,4s,5r)-5-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-3,4-bis(methoxymethyl)oxolan-2-yl]-2h-1,3-benzodioxole was first documented in 2011 (PMID: 21597167). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (-)-Virgatusin. |
