DescriptionNeoclausenamide belongs to the class of organic compounds known as phenylpyrrolidines. These are polycyclic aromatic compounds containing a benzene ring linked to a pyrrolidine ring through a CC or CN bond. Pyrrolidine is a five-membered saturated aliphatic heterocycle with one nitrogen atom and four carbon atoms. (3r,4s,5r)-3-hydroxy-5-[(s)-hydroxy(phenyl)methyl]-1-methyl-4-phenylpyrrolidin-2-one is found in Clausena lansium. (3r,4s,5r)-3-hydroxy-5-[(s)-hydroxy(phenyl)methyl]-1-methyl-4-phenylpyrrolidin-2-one was first documented in 2006 (PMID: 16867254). Based on a literature review a small amount of articles have been published on Neoclausenamide (PMID: 31328524) (PMID: 19503939).
