DescriptionMoxartenolide belongs to the class of organic compounds known as fatty acid esters. These are carboxylic ester derivatives of a fatty acid. (3ar,4s,9br)-6,9-dimethyl-3-methylidene-2,7-dioxo-3ah,4h,5h,9ah,9bh-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-4-yl (2z)-2-methylbut-2-enoate is found in Artemisia argyi. (3ar,4s,9br)-6,9-dimethyl-3-methylidene-2,7-dioxo-3ah,4h,5h,9ah,9bh-azuleno[4,5-b]furan-4-yl (2z)-2-methylbut-2-enoate was first documented in 2004 (PMID: 15587709). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Moxartenolide.
