Rutarensin is found in Daphne mezereum, Edgeworthia chrysantha, Ruta chalepensis, Ruta corsica, Wikstroemia canescens and Wikstroemia retusa. 3-Hydroxy-3-methyl-5-oxo-5-{[3,4,5-trihydroxy-6-({6-methoxy-2-oxo-3-[(2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl)oxy]-2H-chromen-7-yl}oxy)oxan-2-yl]methoxy}pentanoic acid is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
