Description3,3',6,6'-Tetrahydroxy-4,4'-dimethyl-[1,1'-bi(cyclohexane)]-1(6),1'(6'),3,3'-tetraene-2,2',5,5'-tetrone belongs to the class of organic compounds known as p-benzoquinones. These are benzoquinones where the two C=O groups are attached at the 1- and 4-positions, respectively. Oosporein is found in Arcopilus aureus. 3,3',6,6'-Tetrahydroxy-4,4'-dimethyl-[1,1'-bi(cyclohexane)]-1(6),1'(6'),3,3'-tetraene-2,2',5,5'-tetrone is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa).
