| Common Name | Taiwanhomoflavone A |
|---|
| Description | Taiwanhomoflavone A belongs to the class of organic compounds known as biflavonoids and polyflavonoids. These are organic compounds containing at least two flavan/flavone units. These units are usually linked through CC or C-O-C bonds. Some examples include C2-O-C3, C2-O-C4, C3'-C3''', and C6-C8''. Taiwanhomoflavone A is an extremely weak basic (essentially neutral) compound (based on its pKa). A biflavonoid that is a dimer resulting from the coupling of 7,4'-dimethoxy-5-hydroxy-6-methylflavone and 5,7,4'-trihydroxyflavone resulting in a bond between C-3' of the methoxyphenyl ring and C-8 of the chromene ring respectively. |
