DescriptionFeretoside belongs to the class of organic compounds known as iridoid o-glycosides. These are iridoid monoterpenes containing a glycosyl (usually a pyranosyl) moiety linked to the iridoid skeleton. Feretoside is found in Alibertia macrophylla, Eucommia ulmoides, Feretia apodanthera, Galium mollugo, Gardenia jasminoides, Genipa americana, Oldenlandia corymbosa, Oldenlandia herbacea, Paederia foetida, Catunaregam spinosa, Rhododendron latoucheae and Rosenbergiodendron formosum. It was first documented in 2005 (PMID: 16276972). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on Feretoside (PMID: 23847077).
