DescriptionLysoPC(15:0/0:0), Also known as LPC(15:0/0:0) Or lysopc(15:0), Belongs to the class of organic compounds known as 1-acyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholines. These are glycerophosphocholines in which the glycerol is esterified with a fatty acid at O-1 position, and linked at position 3 to a phosphocholine. Thus, lysopc(15:0/0:0) Is considered to be a glycerophosphocholine lipid molecule. LysoPC(15:0/0:0) Is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral. A 1-O-acyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine in which the acyl group is specified as pentadecanoyl. Outside of the human body, LysoPC(15:0/0:0) Is found, on average, in the highest concentration within milk (cow). LysoPC(15:0) was first documented in 2016 (PMID: 26646623). This could make lysopc(15:0/0:0) A potential biomarker for the consumption of these foods.
